Dustin Silva for City Council
My name is Dustin Silva and I am excited to run for Folsom City Council, District 2. My wife and I moved to Folsom when our son was born to take advantage of all that Folsom has to offer. Currently I have two children in local schools, and I am actively engaged in the community. I volunteer as both a coach and board member of the Folsom Jr. Bulldogs program. I see first hand how the decisions we make at the board directly affect those kids participating in the program and the families that support them. I believe our City Council needs someone who not only understands the consequences to decisions they make but also understands that doing nothing about the problems facing our community today is a choice not a viable solution. I will choose to put Folsom First.
As a Captain with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, we moved here in part because of Folsom's safety, however as a resident I see our safety becoming less of a priority at the top. It is imperative that we elect someone that will not just talk about prioritizing your safety but will take action to protect what is so special about Folsom. Our increasing crime, un-housed and the transient population directly affects the enjoyment and use of the beautiful amenities that are unique to Folsom. It also directly affects our ability to retain the businesses that this city was built upon.
I currently hold the position of Captain with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, proudly serving 25 years in law enforcement. I care about Folsom and will work toward the solutions to keep us all safe, prosperous and further enhance the beauty of Folsom.
