Santa's Sleigh Christmas Food and Toy Drive

Santa's Sleigh Christmas Food and Toy Drive

The Santa Sleigh project is a community wide goodwill effort originally started by the Folsom Police Officers' Association. During the nightly runs through town off duty officers and their families and friends volunteer their time to escort Santa and Mrs. Claus to visit children in our community. The program also collects toy and food donations. The donations are part of a collaborative effort between the Folsom Police Department and the Twin Lakes Food Bank and assisted some 700+ families (in 2012) in Folsom and surrounding communities . Members of the City of Folsom Fire Department, also off duty and volunteering, assist and bring festively decorated fire engines to the procession. The FPOA and department have been running the program for some 24 years.
